The mission of NCATS is to catalyze the generation of innovative methods and technologies that will enhance the development, testing and implementation of diagnostics and therapeutics across a wide range of human diseases and conditions. NCATS supports an array of grant programs and in-kind services designed to support this mission. The Center provides intramural and extramural grant funding to support research projects, core facilities, and scientific resources and tools. It also provides opportunities for small businesses and other partners to collaborate on research projects. In addition, NCATS supports state-of-the-science conferences and events. Learn more about current funding and collaboration opportunities and how to apply or obtain more information below.
Open Funding and Collaboration Opportunities
The majority of NCATS awards are for applications sent in response to targeted a Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOA). NCATS develops FOAs with an aim to stimulate translational research in areas of greatest need and for identified gaps in diagnostics and therapy development. Unsolicited grant applications directed to NCATS currently are limited to small business opportunities and conference grant applications. These applications are submitted in response to a corresponding NIH-wide Parent Announcement.

Information and Resources
NIH offers several tools and resources to help individuals search for awarded grants by location and Center; find information on the research projects funded by NIH, including links to access related publications and patents; and learn more about the NIH grant application process, how to apply, and NIH peer review.
Search Awarded Grants
Information on grants awarded by NCATS may be searched by the investigator’s or institution’s name, their location, or by the grant or program number. This tool is one of many offered by the NIH Research Portfolio Online Reporting Tools (RePORT), which provides access to reports, data, and analyses of NIH research activities, including information on NIH expenditures and the results of NIH supported research.
